About Jennifer:

Jennifer began taking pottery workshops at Strathcona County’s Smeltzer House in 2004. She moved to St. Albert with her family in 2011 and became a member of the St. Albert Potters Guild in 2014.

Jennifer is inspired by nature and art, from trees and birds, flowers and mountains, to mandalas . You can see this inspiration in her lotus bowls, mugs and platters decorated with unique carvings and floral elements.  Jennifer finds the process of throwing and creating pottery to be very relaxing and therapeutic. She loves how enjoyable and meditative the process is and how “art in general brings you into the present moment and the stress of the world disappears.”

Mugs are one of Jen’s favourite pieces to create.  From her own hands to the hands that hold the finished mug, people often choose a mug based on the feel in one’s hand.  “It’s nice to feel that connection with those who enjoy my work”.
