Application Guidelines
Openings in the Guild are limited by the size of our space. Membership is open to any adult (18+) resident in the Province of Alberta, with priority given to St. Albert residents. Preference is given to those who have been a past member in good standing within the last ten years and/or have or are currently taking pottery classes from the City of St. Albert or The Art Gallery of St. Albert.
Available spaces are assigned once a year by the end of June.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to reapply each year as required. Please retain a photocopy of your completed, dated form. If your application has not been confirmed by the end of June, you will need to reapply for the following year. Please reapply before May 30th of the following year filling out the Membership Application in full as requested (references, photo’s etc) as the Guild does not keep your previous application. Also ensure you input the date of any previous applications. It is recommended that you send a printed form of your application, by regular mail, since we at times have issues with our hotmail account mail going into the junk mail box, and then being deleted automatically.
Applications are not kept once the selections are made for the year. If you want your application and photos returned, please supply a self-addressed, stamped envelope with sufficient postage.
Thank you for your interest in the St. Albert Potters Guild.
Obligations of Membership:
Regular attendance at general meetings held in the evening on the second Wednesday of the month.
Active participation in Guild operations and Studio housekeeping duties.
Volunteer participation in Guild activities, projects and sales.
It is our goal as a Guild to foster a creative space for Potters of varying skill levels and interests, with a sharing of knowledge and camaraderie.
Volunteerism & mentorship are an important part of that environment. We do not however, offer instruction, with the exception of a number of organized workshops (2 – 3 a year). It is our expectation that your skill level is beyond that of a beginner.
St. Albert Potters Guild operates independently of the City of St. Albert and the Art Gallery of St. Albert Visual Arts program.
Please note that the cost of membership is reviewed annually. There is a separate fee for St. Albert residents and for non-residents.
